Katharine Hope McPhee (born May 6, 1976) is an American musician, singer and actress. In May 2006, she was the runner-up on the fifth season of American Idol. In January of 2007, her debut album, entitled "My Name Is", was released by RCA Records. It debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and sold 381,000 copies. Following her departure from Scorpion, she starred in the role of Jenna Hunterson in Waitress on Broadway in 2018. She reprised her role as a songwriter for a second stint on Broadway from 2019 to 2020. The last few years have been a time of release for four more albums after her self-titled debut.
